Job summary

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in leisure science, parks and recreation, physical education or related field and recreation programming or other related experience.
  • Must pass substance abuse and criminal background investigation.
  • Ability to plan and supervise the work of others; speak effectively; build relationships with coworkers, supervisors, officials, agencies, and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, schedule, implement and evaluate a diversified recreation program within a designated area.
  • Recruit, supervise, direct, and evaluate staff, officials, coaches, and instructors.
  • Coordinate program area activities with other County recreational programs.
  • Advise community groups on organization of recreation programs.
  • Assist in marketing activities via social media posts, flyers, display slides, and digital guides.
  • Prepare activity budget and compile statistics and reports.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and coordinate with private sector for co-sponsoring events.
