Job summary

The University of Florida on the Gainesville campus is seeking a Coordinator of Recreational Sports for Operations. This full-time role oversees operations staff, trains teams, and ensures safety and university policy compliance.

You will manage equipment planning, budgeting, payroll, reporting, and cross-unit collaboration to develop engaging student programs while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in an appropriate area; or Bachelor’s with two years of experience; or equivalent combination.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: Master’s degree; campus recreation experience; self-motivated and team player.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, schedule, train, supervise, mentor, and evaluate operations student staff and OPS employees.
• Supervise student staff on shift at multiple facilities and enforce policies.
• Conduct staff meetings and provide ongoing training for operations staff and interns.
• Plan and facilitate staff meetings and trainings, ensuring compliance with university policies.
• Develop program training manuals and safety/risk management materials aligned with national standards and policy.
• Create and implement a comprehensive student development program in coordination with unit teams.
