Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in recreation management or related field.
• Moderate experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreation programs, including budgeting and scheduling.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, hires, trains, directs, supervises, evaluates, coaches, and disciplines division staff, volunteers, and contractors.
• Develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates recreation programs for the division.
• Oversees the daily operations of the division including purchases, invoice payments, and equipment maintenance.
• Develops and produces flyers and other marketing materials to publicize programs and events.
• Inputs, maintains, and updates programs and events in the department database; maintains records and reports including payroll data.
• Prepares and controls budget; researches grants and external resources; participates in fundraising for projects.
• Work on city-wide special events and emergency operations.
• Acts as liaison between the City and the community.
