Job Summary
Under the general direction of the RecPlex General Manager, the Recreation Coordinator plans, develops, implements and evaluates a variety of camps, clinics, leagues and recreation programs for participants of all ages. This position recruits, trains and supervises seasonal and intermittent program staff; coordinates instructors, contractors and community partners; monitors program budgets, supplies and registration trends; and serves as a primary point of contact for participants and families. The Recreation Coordinator also provides on-site program leadership, responds to customer and participant concerns, and makes independent operational decisions as needed in a fast-paced, multi-use sports and recreation facility.
Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Education, Physical Education, Sports Management, or related area plus a minimum of six (6) months of related work experience.

A Civil Service Examination will be administered for this position. The Top 15 applicants who meet the minimum qualifications, submit all required application materials, and receive a passing score on the written questionnaire will be invited to participate in the remainder of the Civil Service Examination, which will include an Oral Board (Interview) Exam. Oral Boards are tentatively scheduled for the week of September 28, 2026. All dates are tentative and subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.
