Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Education, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.
• Hands-on instruction, teaching, and coaching ability.
• Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Professional communication with employees, participants, families, community partners, and the public.
• Strong budgeting and financial management skills.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, administer, evaluate, and support assigned recreation programs (Baseball/Softball, Basketball, Pickleball, Soccer, Sports Sampler).
• Prepare program descriptions, dates, schedules, locations, fees, age requirements, registration deadlines, staffing needs.
• Coordinate with Marketing for activity guide submissions and promotion.
• Create and verify programs in ACTIVE Net and other systems.
• Monitor registrations and enrollment trends; recommend actions for low enrollment.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and train part-time staff and volunteers.
• Ensure staff understand expectations, safety procedures, and district policies.
• Coordinate program schedules, facility usage, equipment, and staffing.
• Maintain accurate program records and collect participation, revenue, and staffing data.
• Analyze performance and community feedback to improve programs.
• Develop innovative, sustainable programming opportunities.
• Assist with budgets and cost monitoring for programs.
• Maintain inventories of supplies and equipment.
• Provide customer assistance at the district office.
• Support district events and initiatives.
• Maintain data in systems like ACTIVE Net, MaintainX, and Microsoft 365.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with district policies.
• Serve as backup for front desk operations at office and recreation center.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
