Job summary

The Town of Ocean City is seeking a Recreation Program Assistant to support day-to-day operations of youth and adult programs. You will help plan, market, hire and supervise staff, handle registrations and program logistics, and provide excellent customer service.

The role includes evenings, weekends and holidays as required. Forty hours per week from November to January (up to 10 weeks) at $15.00 per hour. Driving record, drug test and background check required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or Parks or related field preferred.
• CPR and Basic First Aid Certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, implementation and evaluation of youth and adult sports leagues.
• Assist with preparation, implementation and evaluation of tournaments.
• Provide facility coverage and supervision during irregular hours.
• Assist with registration and paperwork for programs, camps, leagues, and events.
• Provide customer service including answering phones and registrations.
• Propose and help implement new recreation programs.
