Job summary

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking a part-time Recreation Assistant to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities engage in social and recreational activities in Ocean County. You will support a variety of programs, outings, and events, fostering inclusion and personal growth.

This role offers flexible evening and weekend hours, pays $20.70–$24.70 per hour, and provides on-the-job training and development opportunities in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing with no more than five points.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants in recreational programs, social gatherings, and activities.
• Help facilitate fitness classes, arts and crafts, cooking groups, dances, and events.
• Encourage participants to explore new activities and reflect personal interests.
• Create an inclusive, welcoming environment where everyone can participate and enjoy themselves.
• Support supervision and assistance during programs and events.
