Job summary

City of St. George is seeking a part-time Recreation Assistant to support softball programs, leagues and special events under the Recreation Supervisor. You will assist with staff training, registrations, and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include promoting programs, coordinating with contractors, supervising part-time staff, and performing general office duties. Weekend/evening availability is required to cover events and offerings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; preference for recreation-related education.
• Minimum one year experience with leagues, tournaments or events preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the work of part-time employees and volunteers on shifts.
• Assist in staff training, assignments, recruiting and evaluation.
• Provide customer service in person and by phone and refer inquiries to the appropriate staff.
• Assist in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of programs and events.
• Help promote and advertise programs and special events.
• Register participants for programs and activities.
• Maintain recreation facilities and office areas.
• Follow all city policies and procedures.
