Job summary

The City of St. George is seeking a part-time Recreation Aide to support facilities, manage events, and assist with program promotion. The role requires strong customer service, reliability, and the ability to respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities include assisting referees, updating brackets, and ensuring safety and policy compliance across parks and fields. Weekend/evening availability is required.

Qualifications

• CPR, First Aid, AED certification required within 60 days of hire
• Must have a valid driver’s license; Utah license within 60 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service in person.
• Respond to public inquiries about recreation programs and services.
• Assist in promotion and advertising of programs and events.
• Open/close recreational facility and related rooms, gates, and restrooms.
• Ensure correct number of referees/umpires and scorekeepers on each court/field.
• Monitor games and facilities; enforce city rules on safety and conduct.
• Write incident and accident reports per city policies.
• Update scores and brackets online; inform patrons of schedules and locations.
• Assist in developing and evaluating a comprehensive sport program.
• Work with supervisors to communicate program objectives to referees and the public.
