Job summary

City of Doraville is seeking a Recreation Coordinator to plan, develop, promote, coordinate, implement, and administer recreation programs for residents and visitors of all ages.

The role reports to the Recreation Manager and requires collaboration with schools, universities, and community groups to deliver engaging activities and events. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of coordinating and administering recreation programs.
• Knowledge of recreation programming, sports rules, equipment maintenance.
• Familiarity with state camp and exemption regulations.
• Working knowledge of recreation modalities and fitness equipment.
• Ability to use computers and recreation/facility management software.
• Strong judgment and decision-making.
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
• Good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Plans and administers comprehensive camp programming and other recreation/athletic programming.
• Plans, organizes, coordinates recreation programming and schedules city events within budget.
• Collaborates with outside organizations on partnerships/sponsorship requests.
• Develops links with schools and universities to promote youth programs.
• Assists with hiring, training, and supervising part-time and seasonal staff.
• Maintains and operates recreational equipment and facilities.
• Supports program planning with budget and performance measures.
• Engages community partners to promote activities and events.
