Job summary

The City of Tucson is hiring a Recreation Assistant to support daily operations of Parks and Recreation facilities and assist with programs for children, youth, adults, and seniors. You will handle customer service, registrations, payments, recordkeeping, and safety inspections, working under the Recreation Coordinator.

The role requires teamwork, reliability, and strong communication in a public-facing environment.

Qualifications

• Six months post high school education.
• One year of relevant experience.
• Experience with computers and payment systems.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Answers phones, greets customers, and responds to program questions.
• Processes registrations, memberships, and payments using POS systems.
• Maintains program records, attendance and incident reports.
• Assists with planning, coordinating, and evaluating programs and events.
• Sets up activities and supports special events with staff and partners.
• Monitors facilities for safety and operational needs.
