The Recreation Assistant supports the daily operation of City of Tucson Parks and Recreation facilities and assists with the delivery of recreation programs, activities, classes, special events, and services for children, youth, adults, and seniors.
Responsibilities include customer service, program and facility support, registrations and payments, recordkeeping, facility opening and closing, safety inspections, and coordination with participants, community partners, and other City staff. Recreation Assistants may provide task-level assistance to non-permanent employees, interns, and volunteers but do not supervise employees. Work is performed under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator. This position does not supervise.
Work locations and schedules may vary based on operational needs. Job sites are located throughout the city, and hours vary Sunday through Saturday from 6:00 am – 8:00 pm. All duties and responsibilities listed are subject to change.
