Job summary

The City of Goodyear Parks & Recreation department seeks a Full-Time Recreation Assistant to coordinate and promote a wide range of programs, including youth and adult activities, aquatics, facility rentals and events in Goodyear, AZ. This role also assists with pool management, staff supervision, data input for rentals, and field allocations for various user groups.

The position is non-exempt, offers a comprehensive benefits package, and requires CPR/First Aid certifications along with a valid

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience in a related field.
• Valid Driver's License, CPR and First‑Aid certifications.
• Ability to read staff reports, memorandums and letters.
• Ability to perform general math calculations (addition, subtraction, etc.).
• Ability to write reports, forms and flyers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and promote recreational programs and events.
• Assist in recruiting, training and supervising part‑time and seasonal staff.
• Assist in managing aquatic and recreation programs and related admin duties.
• Oversee purchase, distribution and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
• Plan, organize, implement and evaluate various activities and events.
• Ensure participant safety and program compliance with laws and standards.
• Provide excellent customer service in daily public interactions.
• Build positive relationships with participants, groups and staff.
