Job summary

The Town of Groton is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Swimming Instructor for Saturdays to assist the Lead Instructor in delivering engaging and safe swimming lessons for children across age groups.

Candidates should be strong swimmers, comfortable in a pool environment, and able to maintain a positive, structured, and safe learning space. A valid driver’s license is preferred, and background checks apply before employment.

STARTING RATE: $17.00 / hour

POSITION RANGE: $17.00 - $18.75 / hour

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & OVERVIEW:

The Assistant Swimming Instructor works alongside the Lead Swimming Instructor to deliver engaging and safe swimming lessons for children of various age groups and skill levels. This role is ideal for candidates who love working with children, are comfortable in the water, and are eager to help students build water confidence and develop essential swimming skills.

Candidates must possess a strong swimming ability, comfort working in a pool environment, and knowledge of pool safety rules, regulations, and best practices. Additionally, applicants should have the ability to take direction well, maintain a positive, structured, and safe learning environment, and build cooperative relationships with colleagues, children, and parents.

A valid motor vehicle operator's license is preferred.
