Job summary

The Town of Groton is seeking an Inclusion Leader to support participants with disabilities in recreation programs, providing adaptations, strategies, and a welcoming environment for meaningful participation across sports, aquatics, arts, and games. Hours vary with participant registrations; some evenings and weekends are required.

Basic knowledge of working with individuals with special needs and prior experience with children or people with disabilities are preferred; a valid driver's license

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of working with individuals with special needs in recreational activities.
• Able to emphasize an individual's abilities, help participants build self-esteem, and promote social interactions.
• Experience working with children and people with disabilities is desired.
• Valid motor vehicle operators license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide adaptations and strategies to support participation in activities.
• Assist with behavior management and create sensory-friendly environments.
