Job summary

The Town of Groton is seeking a part-time swimming instructor to lead lessons for children of all ages and skill levels at the Parks and Recreation Department. The role focuses on teaching proper swimming techniques, stroke development, water safety, and basic rescue skills.

The ideal candidate has strong swimming abilities, a current WSI certification or equivalent experience, and flexibility to work Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Strong swimming skills are a must.
• A current Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification or equivalent experience is preferred.
• A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead swimming lessons for children of all ages and skill levels.
• Teach proper swimming techniques, stroke development, water safety, and basic rescue skills.
• Maintain discipline and respect among participants and staff.
• Build positive relationships with children and program staff.
