Job summary

City of Baltimore, MD is seeking a Recreation Leader II to assist the Recreation Center Director in coordinating, planning, administering, supervising and conducting recreational and cultural programs at a recreation center and/or pool.

The role requires some supervisory duties, evening and weekend hours, and work across recreation centers and athletic facilities. Applicants must meet education and experience requirements and may be subject to background checks.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or GED
• Experience: Three years of experience in leading recreation activities
• Equivalency: Six months of additional experience may substitute for each year of high school requirement; a bachelor’s degree may substitute for the experience requirement.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Recreation Center Director in coordinating, planning, administrating, supervising and conducting recreational and cultural programs at a recreation center and/or pool.
• Work at recreation centers, athletic fields and other facilities where inclement weather may be encountered.
• Supervise staff and/or volunteers and maintain records.
• Plan and organize recreational activities and work with large groups.
