Job summary

Atrium Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a dedicated Recreation Leader to support residents through engaging activities and programs. This full-time position may be temporary for a 3-month assignment, with a pay rate of $20.00 to $24.00 per hour.

You will plan, lead, and evaluate recreational activities, provide one-on-one visits, and collaborate with nursing staff to enhance residents' quality of life while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of recreation, activities, or related experience (long-term care or skilled nursing preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating recreational programs.
• Lead group and individual activities including games, arts and crafts, music, religious services, holiday celebrations, and special events.
• Provide one-on-one visits, motivation, and reality orientation to residents as needed.
• Observe, document, and report resident participation, behaviors, and progress.
• Encourage resident and family involvement in activity planning and care goals.
• Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary team members to enhance residents' quality of life.
• Set up, supervise, and clean activity areas before and after programs.
• Maintain recreation supplies, equipment, and activity materials.
• Safely transport residents to and from activities within the facility.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and all facility policies and procedures.
