Anchor Care and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a creative, energetic Recreation Aide to enrich residents' lives through engaging activities at Hazlet, NJ. You will plan and lead a variety of recreational programs, supporting cognitive, physical, social, and leisure goals for diverse residents.

The role requires energy, compassion, and excellent communication, with opportunities to coordinate events and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to enhance quality of life.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with older adults or in healthcare/recreational setting preferred.
• Energetic, enthusiastic, creative, and compassionate.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to engage residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead individual and group recreational activities.
• Facilitate cognitive, physical, social, and leisure programs that promote resident engagement.
• Assist with coordinating monthly events, holiday celebrations, and special activities.
• Encourage resident participation while adapting activities to individual interests, abilities, and needs.
• Build positive relationships with residents and promote a welcoming, inclusive environment.
• Assist with transporting residents to and from activities as needed.
• Maintain activity supplies and ensure activity areas remain clean and organized.
• Observe residents during activities and report any concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Ensure resident safety, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
• Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to enhance residents' quality of life.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with older adults or in a healthcare, recreation, or activities setting is preferred.
