Job summary

The Bend Park and Recreation District is seeking a Facility Shift Lead to oversee operations of a recreation facility with multiple staff, programs and safety responsibilities.

You will lead front-line staff, schedule shifts, coach performance, manage program areas, ensure health and safety standards, handle emergencies, and respond to public questions while maintaining a positive, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; two years of college courses in recreation preferred.
• Two years of experience in a recreation facility with at least one year of team lead experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversees ongoing operations of recreation facility including multiple staff, programs and uses.
• Provides leadership to front-line staff, coaches performance, and schedules work.
• Supports assigned program areas, assists in hiring staff, and coordinates staffing levels.
• Adjusts facility schedule to meet program needs, safety, and budget considerations.
• Oversees facility operations during shifts, including pools and ice rinks; opens/closes; ensures health and safety.
• Ensures safety of participants and staff, manages risk across staff and programs.
• Handles public inquiries in a positive manner and acts as on-site Emergency Action Plan lead.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
