Job summary

Rockford Park District in Rockford, IL, seeks a Recreation Coordinator in Therapeutic Recreation. Under the TR Manager, you identify needs, organize, implement, supervise and evaluate recreation programs for people with disabilities, including socials, fitness, leisure programs and adult camps; evening and weekend work required.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field, CTRS preferred, extensive coordination, budgeting, staff supervision of 15+ seasonal

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Adapted Physical Education, Physical Education or Special Education or equivalent.
• Current CTRS certification preferred per NCTRC.
• CTRS certification preferred and in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate recreation programs for adults with disabilities.
• Maintain budgets and develop program plans, documentation and reports.
• Coordinate transportation, facility reservations, and field trips.
• Lead staff meetings and supervise 15+ seasonal staff; ensure program quality and safety.
