Job summary

The Grand Pavilion Rockville Centre is seeking a Recreation Therapist to develop and implement programs that enhance residents’ cognitive, physical, social and psychological well-being. The role requires CTRS or eligibility and knowledge of MDS/EMR documentation, with 1–2 years of experience and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities include coordinating on-unit events, creating calendars, and supporting outdoor trips while ensuring quality documentation and resident engagement.

Qualifications

• CTR S/LCAT certification or eligibility.
• Energetic, enthusiastic, and creative with good interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of MDS and electronic medical record documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement therapeutic recreation programs for residents.
• Coordinate on-unit events and outings.
• Create monthly activity calendars based on residents' interests and abilities.
• Transport residents to activities and aid in calendar execution.
• Maintain documentation and care plans with MDS knowledge.
