Oxford Senior Living in Newfane, NY is seeking a Recreation Coordinator to bring joy, creativity, and community to residents in recovery. You will plan and lead engaging activities, coordinate schedules, and balance hands-on engagement with administrative duties.
The role requires 1+ year in behavioral health or equivalent education, strong communication, organization, and computer skills, and flexibility to adapt to changing facility needs.

In this role, you will be the driving force behind our facility's daily energy and monthly events. You will balance hands-on patient engagement administrative coordination.
Design & Lead Activities: Create and run weekly/monthly recreation schedules featuring yoga, visual arts, storytelling, physical exercise, sports, music, and board games.
Transform Our Space: Use patient-participatory art displays to brighten clinical walls and cultivate a thriving garden area. Maintain monthly program boards and coordinate schedule changes directly with the Clinical Director/Supervisor.
Host Events: Develop and execute bimonthly events like Open Mic nights, talent shows, Field Days, Alumni Gatherings, and guest speaker events.
External Relations: Coordinate presentations with outside facilitators, guest speakers, and recovery comedians.
Budgeting and inventory: Manage the basic monthly budget allocated for groups, events, and recreational planning. Maintain inventory and submit requisitions for supply approvals.
Compliance & Documentation: Ensure timely documentation of patient participation, audit clinical group notes/sign-in sheets, and review group attendance for prizes or clinical interventions.
Experience: 1 or more years of experience working in behavioral health, OR equivalent education.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust your schedule based on shifting facility needs or sudden issues.
