Job summary

The Westchester Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing in Mount Vernon, NY is seeking a Recreation Assistant to enhance the lives of our patients and residents. You will help plan and implement activities, support daily living tasks, and promote physical, emotional, and social well-being.

You will work with nursing staff to tailor activities to individual goals, assist with mealtime, and maintain a safe, welcoming recreation space.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare or social services setting preferred.
• Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and implementing recreational activities, social events, and outings for patients and residents.
• Coordinate with nursing staff to ensure activities align with individual patient needs and goals.
• Provide support with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, as needed.
