Job summary

The City of McKinney is seeking a Recreation Center Director to lead the center’s daily operations, oversee diverse programs, and drive community engagement. You will manage staff, scheduling, facilities, and safety to deliver high-quality recreational experiences for residents and visitors.

Responsibilities include budgeting, program development, partnerships with community groups, public relations, and ensuring compliance with city policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with recreation administration focus and 3+ years of supervision experience.
• Cardiopulmonary Rescue and First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Direct the recreation center, its operations and programs.
• Plan, organize, implement, direct and evaluate leisure programs.
• Direct budgeting processes and prepare annual center budget.
• Recruit, train and supervise staff; conduct performance evaluations.
• Schedule facilities for classes and events; coordinate with instructors and officials.
• Publicize programs with Marketing; respond to inquiries and manage registrations.
• Ensure safety and security of patrons, staff, and facilities.
