Job summary

The City of Frederick is seeking a Recreation Aide to monitor recreation and rental activities at satellite centers. You will supervise Center Aides, handle registrations and fees, and be the first point of contact for patrons at your assigned center.

You will report to the Recreation Supervisor, provide excellent customer service to the community, and help ensure safe, clean, and well-run facilities. This role emphasizes reliability, organization, and a friendly, service-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED; current senior in high school.
• Applicant must be 17 years of age or older.
• Experience or ability to supervise staff and manage a facility.
• Ability to provide friendly customer service and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Center Aides and assign workstations and monitor the satellite facility.
• Collect and record all fees for center use or program registration.
• Provide customer service to the community and satellite center members.
• Ensure proper facility usage and safety for patrons and groups.
• Maintain equipment and ensure facility cleanliness and safety.
• Report problems to the Recreation Supervisor and log hours worked.
• Cover scheduled hours and provide coverage when needed.
• Complete accident forms and report safety concerns to the Recreation Supervisor.
