Job summary

City of Frederick is seeking an attentive Recreation Aide to oversee satellite centers, supervise Center Aides, and serve as the first point of contact for patrons. You will help ensure smooth operations and accurate fee recording while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

The role requires interaction with the public, ability to manage multi-line calls, and adherence to department procedures. Applicants should be at least 17, with a high school diploma or GED, and be ready to support

Job description

The Recreation Aide is responsible for monitoring the recreation and rental activities at various satellite centers within The City of Frederick. This position requires supervising patrons, and ensuring the smooth operation of the specific center that they are assigned to. As a Recreation Aide you are the first line of contact for customers or clients entering the satellite center. This is position requires the supervision of Center Aides and reports directly to the Recreation Supervisor. Duties include providing customer service to the community and members of the satellite center, answering multi-line telephone system, maintaining records, and various other duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for reporting to the Recreation Supervisor
  • Responsible for the direct supervision of the Center aides, assigning workstations and monitoring the satellite facility
  • Responsible for the collection and recording of all fees received in association with the center use or program registration
  • Responsible for customer service as it relates to the Recreation Department's duty to the community
  • Ensure proper facility usage by all patrons and rental groups
  • Responsible for maintenance and proper use of equipment
  • Responsible for ensuring the security and cleanliness of the facility prior to the ending of each shift
  • Report any problems or concerns to the Recreation Supervisor
  • Responsible for reporting all hours worked as directed by Recreation Supervisor
  • Responsible for working all scheduled hours as well as provide for coverage if unable to work
  • Maintain for the safety of all participants and complete accident forms and report to the Recreation Supervisor

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent Current Senior in High School
  • Applicant must be 17 years of age or older
