• Supervise programs to maintain a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment and intervene to resolve conflicts.
• Supervise programs independently and problem solve as issues arise.
• Be knowledgeable of Berthoud Recreation policies and procedures and help protect facilities and equipment.
• Be flexible to work afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Assist with special events.

Job description

Summary Under the direct supervision of the Recreation Coordinator(s) – Sports & Programs, this position provides support and leadership in the operations of sports and programs. Ideal candidates will have previous experience in various sports and have worked in youth and adult programming. This part-time position will work at least 10 hours a season and up to 25 hours in a week. The Recreation Attendant - Sports must be available to work afternoons, nights, and weekends. and various times depending on programs. Candidates must be 16 or older to apply.

• Ensure a welcoming, safe, and positive environment by receiving and greeting individuals courteously and helping resolve any issues in a timely manner.
• Assist with programs by learning how to lead and best support the participants in those programs with coaching and support.
• Assist with setup of programs by arriving at the designated time to prepare for programs as directed.
• Supervise programs actively to ensure a safe, positive, and fun environment is being maintained for all participants, spectators, staff, and officials – intervening when necessary to resolve conflicts and contacting appropriate supervisors.
• Supervise programs independently and problem solve issues as the arise.
• Be knowledgeable and enforce Berthoud Recreation policies and procedures to take care of facilities and equipment appropriately.
• Have flexibility and be able to work nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Assist with special events.
