Job summary

Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa in San Antonio, TX seeks a Recreation Hut Attendant to oversee daily operation of recreational facilities and ensure a safe, welcoming guest experience.

You will provide customer service, manage equipment rentals and reservations, and support water-based activities while promoting safety and exceptional guest service.

Qualifications

• Must be a confident swimmer and comfortable working in water-based activities.
• Experience in customer service, recreation, hospitality, or related field preferred.
• Ability to assist guests with recreational equipment (kayaks, watercraft) safely.
• Strong communication and guest-focused interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently while ensuring guest safety.
• Physically capable of lifting, moving, and maintaining recreational equipment; able to perform cleaning tasks.
• Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays.

Summary

The Recreation Hut Attendant is responsible for the daily operation of recreational facilities and activities, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for guests and visitors. This role provides customer service, manages equipment rentals and reservations, maintains facility cleanliness and organization, monitors inventory, and supports water-based and recreational activities. The incumbent must be a strong swimmer and able to perform physically demanding tasks while promoting safety and exceptional guest service.

Qualifications

• Must be a confident swimmer and comfortable working in and around water-based recreational activities.
• Previous experience in customer service, recreation, hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to safely assist guests with recreational equipment, including kayaks and other watercraft.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly, guest-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and responsibly while ensuring guest safety.
• Basic knowledge of water safety, first aid, and CPR is an asset (or willingness to obtain certification).
• Physically capable of lifting, moving, and maintaining recreational equipment, as well as performing cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage reservations, inventory, and equipment tracking.
• Must demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and enjoyable recreational environment.
