Job summary

Kaizen Lab Inc. in Voorhees, NJ, is seeking a Recreation Assistant for the Therapeutic Recreation/Child Life team.

This part-time role (24 hours per week) supports pediatric residents through planned activities, play, and inclusive programming in rooms, playroom, and community settings. You will work Fridays 10:00am–6:00pm and weekends 10:30am–6:30pm, earn $16.00 per hour, and benefit from medical/dental/vision coverage, 401(k) and other programs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred
  • Education/training/experience in child development, childcare, play, sensory/developmental stimulation; pediatric illness, disability, social, cultural, religious diversity/backgrounds
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with the healthcare team and families
  • Ability to function independently, and as a team member of the TR/CL Department Team and Interdisciplinary team

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the design, planning, and implementation of recreation/playactivities in order to meet the needs of the pediatric residents.
  • Participating in activities with residents that include entertainment, inter-communication,exercise, relaxation, and opportunity to express creative talent and fulfillbasic psychological, social, and spiritual needs,.
  • Encouraging the further development of skillsthrough activities based on the child’s current cognitive, motor, and sensorylevels with the consideration of the child’s social, cultural, and religiousneeds.
  • Assisting in activities can be provided in agroup or individual setting, in resident rooms, playroom, therapy room, oroutside.
  • Facilitate activities bothwithin VPF and within the community to stimulate and promote resident interestand general well-being, and enhance developmental milestones.
  • Functioning as an integral member of the TR/CL Department and Interdisciplinary team.

SCHEDULE:
  • Part Time
  • 24 hours per week
  • Friday, 10:00am-6:00pm and Saturday-Sunday, 10:30-6:30
COMPENSATION:

$16.00/ hr.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred
  • Education/training/experience in child development,childcare, play, sensory/developmental stimulation; pediatric illness, disability,social, cultural, religious diversity/backgrounds
