Job summary

The City of Goldsboro is seeking a part-time, on-call customer service assistant for Garey Park. You will handle program information, issue equipment, and assist customers with memberships and events.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months in customer service or public contact. Cash handling and safety knowledge are preferred, with CPR/First Aid within six months of employment being desirable.

This is a part-time, on-call position.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, training and Experience Guidelines

High school graduate, or equivalent. Six (6) months of customer service or public contact. OR Any combination of experience, education and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Cash handling skills, preferred.

Knowledge of:

• CPR and First aid procedures.
• Customer service practices and procedures.
• Money handling practices and procedures.
• City policies and procedures.

Skill in:

• Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Working well with adults and children.
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
• Monitoring center health and safety compliance policies and procedures.
• Resolving customer complaints and concerns.
• Taking messages and writing reports.
• Performing basic math calculations to make change.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License
• Must possess or must obtain CPR certification within six (6) months from date of employment.
• Must possess or must obtain First Aid certification within six (6) months of employment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, crouching, bending, vision, hearing, talking, use of foot controls. May be subject to extended periods of standing, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling and lifting such as setting up, conducting, and cleaning up program activities. Chemicals and recreation equipment.

Hiring Range: $15.86 - $19.86, hourly.
