Job summary

The City of Georgetown, TX is seeking a part-time, on-call customer service associate for Garey Park. You will assist park guests, register participants for activities, collect fees and memberships, and provide information about programs and services.

Responsibilities include monitoring activities, distributing equipment, answering inquiries, and assisting with event setup and cleanup. CPR and First Aid certification must be obtained within six months; experience in public contact is preferred.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:Provides customer service to all participants in activities and programs at area of assignment.Registers participants and members for activities, programs and services; collects pay for fees and memberships and reconciles receipts and cash register at the end of shift.Processes member paperwork, including address changes, member cancellations, new members, electronic funds transfers and payments.Monitors activities offered through the City Parks & Recreation Division to ensure compliance with rules and policies and safety guidelines.Distributes recreation equipment to customers.Opens and closes center according to established policies and procedures.Responds to inquiries and/or complaints from citizens and contract instructors.Completes report forms including incident/accident and facility tracking reports.Assists other staff members with computer input for programs, filing of forms, and flyer distribution.Performs routine maintenance and cleaning in and around facility.Participates and assists with monthly special events and programs (evenings & weekends) or other duties as assigned.Performs other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education, training and Experience GuidelinesHigh school graduate, or equivalent. Six (6) months of customer service or public contact. OR Any combination of experience, education and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Cash handling skills, preferred.Knowledge of:CPR and First aid procedures.Customer service practices and procedures.Money handling practices and procedures.City policies and procedures.Skill in:Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.Working well with adults and children.Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.Monitoring center health and safety compliance policies and procedures.Resolving customer complaints and concerns.Taking messages and writing reports.Performing basic math calculations to make change.LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTSValid Class "C" Texas Driver's LicenseMust possess or must obtain CPR certification within six (6) months from date of employment.Must possess or must obtain First Aid certification within six (6) months of employment.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENTStanding, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, crouching, bending, vision, hearing, talking, use of foot controls. May be subject to extended periods of standing, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling and lifting such as setting up, conducting, and cleaning up program activities.
