Job summary

The Town of Parker is seeking personnel to provide front-line patron services across multiple facilities, including Events, Recreation Center/Fieldhouse, and Discovery Park. You will help maintain safety, assist with setup and teardown, and ensure clean, welcoming spaces for participants and staff.

Applicants should be at least sixteen years old, with preferred experience in cleaning and maintenance. This role offers diverse duties and requires adaptability to evening, weekend, and holiday

Qualifications

Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
Experience performing general cleaning and facility maintenance tasks is preferred.
Knowledge of relevant town, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies.
Knowledge of recreation principles and practices, including customer relations techniques.
Knowledge of recreation center equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities

Performs front-line, day-to-day services in Events, Recreation Center/Fieldhouse, Discovery Park.
Maintains order and overall control in assigned program area; monitor participants.
Monitors and maintains the overall appearance and functionality of facilities; communicates issues to a supervisor.
Assists with opening, closing, and inventory procedures as needed.
Responds to emergency situations and completes incident reports as needed.
Ensures compliance with Town and Departmental policies and procedures.
Reports suspected abuse cases to supervisor and appropriate bodies.
Assists in setting up and tearing down tables, chairs, A/V equipment, sports, or recreation equipment for events, programs, and rentals.

Job description

Under general supervision, this position provides patron services within assigned program or facility areas.

Performs front-line, day-to-day services in any combination of the following divisions:
Events
Recreation Center/Fieldhouse
Discovery Park
Maintains order and overall control in assigned program area; monitor participants within program area.
Monitors and maintains the overall appearance and functionality of facilities, venues, and program areas to provide safe conditions for patrons and staff; performs maintenance tasks, remedies safety concerns, and communicates any issues to a supervisor.
Ensures all required documentation is completed.
Assists with opening, closing, and inventory procedures as needed.
Responds to emergency situations and assists in the evacuation of program area. Accurately completes incident reports as needed.
Ensures compliance with Town and Departmental policies and procedures.
Reports suspected abuse cases to supervisor and the appropriate governing bodies.
Assists in setting up and tearing down tables, chairs, A/V equipment, sports, or recreation equipment for events, programs, and rentals.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Examples of Essential Duties for the Events

Discusses activities and event schedule s with patrons; oversees some event logistics.
Facilitates games and activities.

Examples of Essential Duties for the Recreation Center

Assists in the daily maintenance of fitness equipment to ensure proper working order.

Examples of Essential Duties for Discovery Park

Monitors patrons while ice skating on the trail.

Requirements

The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, certification and/or licensure required. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.

Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.

Experience performing general cleaning and facility maintenance tasks is preferred.

Skill and ability to safely ice skate for extended periods (Discovery Park Ice Trail only).

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers, supervisors, Town officials, community organizers, the public, and contractors.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to work independently, analyze situations carefully, and adopt effective courses of action.
Ability and willingness to learn, implement, and adapt to Departmental/Divisional policies and evolving procedures.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and various shifts.

Tools & Equipment

Requires frequent use of general cleaning equipment and supplies as well as small hand tools.

Physical Demands

Requires regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, handling, feeling or operating objects, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Requires occasional reaching with hands and arms, climbing and balancing. Requires moderate physical activity with heavy lifting, up to fifty (50) pounds. Requires close and distance vision acuity and the ability to adjust focus, allowing a broad field of vision.

Environment

Work is frequently performed in a climate-controlled office environment, but employees holding this position may be exposed to extreme cold or heat and wetness/humidity. The noise level is usually high and may range from moderate to extreme. The employee may occasionally work with or around hazardous items or hazardous conditions such as mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, chemicals, or radiant energy.
