Job summary

Genesis HealthCare in Maine is hiring an Activity Assistant to enrich the lives of our patients and residents by planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that meet diverse needs. You will contribute to monthly recreation therapy planning, document attendance and participation, and join care plan meetings as needed.

Selected candidates should have strong communication and organizational skills and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors and respond to their medical and physical needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and implement engagement activities meeting the physical, creative, cognitive, social, spiritual, and needs of our patients and residents.
• Provide input into the design of monthly recreation therapy services.
• Document patient/resident attendance and participation in recreation programs.
• Attend care plan meetings as needed.
