City of Palos Heights is seeking a Recreation and Aquatics Manager to oversee athletics, recreation programs, special events and pool operations. The role requires planning, staffing, budgeting and ensuring safe operations while delivering high-quality community programs.

TheRecreationandAquaticsManager is responsible for development, organization, coordination and administration of the comprehensive athletics/leagues, select recreation programs,specialeventsandaquatics.
TheRecreationandAquaticsManageris responsible for the planning, hiring, training,budgets,implementationand supervisionofallstaff,volunteersand independent contractors required to complete the tasks within the recreational programs, special events and aquatics offered.

Develop,promote,manage,andevaluate youth/adult athletics, recreation programs,special events and pool.
Hire, train, schedule, supervise, andevaluate lifeguards,poolstaff, swim instructors, program staff, facilitystaff,andvolunteers.
Assistwithannualrecreationand aquatics budgets; monitor purchasing,payroll,andprogramresources.
Prepare various reports and promotional content; support registration,customerservice,and problem resolution.
Promotesafeoperationsand complete required incident/accident reporting.
Prepares press releases, brochure listings,flyersandadsforassigned programs and special events.
Provide outstanding customer service, including responding to customerquestionsandcomplaints

Bachelor’sdegreeinrecreationora closely related field; equivalent combinations of education, experience,andtrainingmaybeconsidered.
CPRPpreferredorobtainedwithin one year of hire.
CPR/AEDandFirstAidcertificationwithin 90 days; Lifeguarding Instructor (LGI) within six months.
CPOorAFOcertificationwithinoneyear of hire.
IllinoisFoodManagercertification within one year of hire.
Valid Illinois driver’s license; proficiency with Microsoft Office and recreation registration software (RecTrac preferred).
