Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the Edison Job Corps Center in Edison, NJ. We are seeking a part-time Recreation Aide for 20 hours per week with a starting wage of $18.46 per hour.

The schedule includes Monday 3pm–9pm, Friday 2pm–9pm, Saturday 12pm–8pm, and Sunday 1pm–8pm. You will plan, monitor, and direct students in center-sponsored activities, both on and off center, using fun and creative approaches to teach healthy extracurricular activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year recreation experience or verified voluntary experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver''s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Computer proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, plan and direct students in center-sponsored activities both on and off center.
• Chaperone students to recreation functions on and off center.
• Plan and conduct activities to enhance student retention and meet student needs.
• Participate in the Career Development Services System (CDSS) through leadership activities.

Whatyou will be doing:

You’ll be responsible for monitoring, planning, and directing students engaged in center sponsored activities both on and off center. Put your fun and creative skills to use to teach healthy and fun extracurricular activities!

Essential functions:

1. Plan, implement and coordinate a diversified program that will attract voluntary participation.
2. Chaperone students to recreation functions both on and off center.
3. Plan and conduct various activities to enhance student retention and meet all students' needs.
4. Participate in Career Development Services System (CDSS) by creating positive peer leadership and role modeling techniques through activities both on and off center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• One (1) year recreation experience or verified voluntary experience
• Experience with you, excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Computer proficiency required
