Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the San Diego Job Corps Center in Imperial Beach, CA. The role involves monitoring, planning, and directing students in center-sponsored activities both on and off center, using creative approaches to teach healthy and engaging extracurriculars.

Essential duties include coordinating recreation, chaperoning events, and supporting career preparation initiatives to enhance student retention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience working with youth.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency.
• Valid CDL Class B license with acceptable driving record and passenger endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, plan, and direct students in center-sponsored activities on and off campus.
• Conduct and coordinate recreation activities and chaperone students to functions.
• Plan activities to support career preparation and student retention.
• Assist with monitoring the student store and PE classes.

Whatyou will be doing:You’ll be responsible for monitoring, planning, and directing students engaged in center sponsored activities both on and off center. Put your fun and creative skills to use to teach healthy and fun extracurricular activities!

Essential functions:

1. Plan, implement and coordinate a diversified program that will attract voluntary participation.
2. Conduct and coordinate recreation activities and chaperone students to recreation functions both on and off center.
3. Conduct activities for career preparation students that enhance student retention.
4. Assist with monitoring of the student store and conduct PE classes.
5. Plan and conduct various activities to enhance student retention and meet all students' needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• One (1) years experience working with youth required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency
• Valid commercial driver's license (Class B) with an acceptable driving record and passenger endorsement preferred.
