Surge Rehabilitation and Nursing in New York seeks a Per-diem Recreation Aide to energize residents through engaging activities and events. You’ll work as part of a compassionate team, planning programs and supervising daily recreation.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, reliable, adaptable, and able to meet physical demands; evenings, weekends and holidays may be required. Salary is $19.50 per hour, with per-diem scheduling.

• Experience with nursing homes or recreational activities preferred.

• Patience and compassion when dealing with residents.

Surge Rehab and Nursing is urgently seeking a Per-diem Recreation Aide.

• Must be upbeat, energetic and have a caring personality
• Must be reliable
• Must work as a team player
• Outgoing, warm, and caring personality
• Ability to create a program to get Residents involved and excited
• Dependable, Reliable and able to supervise activities, special events for the Residents
• Creative talents in one or more areas such as art, music, readings, dance, etc
• Demonstrates good listening and communication skills and follow through.
• Interest and experience in Music are a plus!

Requirements:

• A high school diploma and certain certifications may be required.
• More education or experience with nursing homes, short-term rehabilitation, recreational activities, event planning, or related may be preferred.
• Physical fitness's, ability to walk, dance, stand, lift, or meet other physical demands.
• Adaptability and strong organization and time management skills.
• Excellent resource management and record-keeping
• Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgrounds.
• Flexibility to work when needed, especially some evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Willingness to adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures.

Job Type: Per-diem

Salary: $19.50 per hour

Schedule: M-F 9-5, Weekends as needed
