Job summary

Eckerd Connects is seeking a Recreation Aide for Job Corps in Albuquerque to organize and direct trainees in leisure-time recreation and leadership activities. You will help with trips, chaperoning, and may drive on outings.

Role requires an AA degree or 1 year of related youth experience, flexibility with weekends/evenings, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a drug screen and background check.

Qualifications

• Associates of Arts degree or one year of related experience working with youth.
• Prefer experience in a recreation/non-vocational program.
• Must be flexible with work schedule to include weekends, holidays and/or nights.
• Valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and directs trainees in leisure-time recreation and leadership programs.
• Assists with center-sponsored trips and events, including escorting and chaperoning; may drive students on trips.
• Assists with Water Safety programming (videos, swimming certification and lessons) and CIS documentation.
• Provides instruction in recreational clubs (sports, poetry, drama, arts and crafts) and other activities.
• Mentors students to help establish life skills.
