Job summary

Delaware Valley Job Corps in Callicoon, NY is seeking a Recreation team member to develop and oversee a diverse, high-quality recreation program for students aged 16–24. You will promote health and wellness, coordinate evening activities with CPP and Social Development, and ensure safety and program compliance while delivering engaging programming.

The role emphasizes supervising students, maintaining equipment, organizing events, and supporting the overall learning environment.

Schedule:

Wednesday - Sunday 3:00pm - 12:00am, Monday & Tuesday OFF

Pay: $17.75 per hour

Responsible for working with Recreation team to provide students with a comprehensive and diverse recreation program. Promotes health and wellness through overseeing the recreation activities as outlined on the approved recreation schedule.

  • o Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures no manipulation of student data.
  • o Assists with the supervision of a comprehensive and diverse recreation program.
  • o Coordinates recreation activities with CPP and Social Development to include evening programming.
  • o Coordinates recreation and leadership activities/programs with Center and local community resources.
  • o Ensures safe practices and program compliance within prescribed safety guidelines.
  • o Documents student participation and accountability during recreation activities.
  • o Maintains inventory of equipment and material and controls their use.
  • o Recommends purchase of specific equipment.
  • o Performs repairs on equipment as needed.
  • o Responsible for the overall appearance, condition and organization of the recreation department facilities.
  • o May oversee student recreation aide program.
  • o Produces quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner.
  • o Maintains appropriate personal attendance, accountability and work productivity standards.
  • o Plans, prioritizes and organizes assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.
  • o Understands and applies job knowledge to effectively complete all required job responsibilities.
  • o Proactively maintains the skills required to perform job duties.
  • o Mentors, monitors and models the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.
  • o Provides high-quality supervision and management for the student population and positively influences student behavior.
  • o Shows respect and courtesy to students and holds them accountable for their actions and behavior.
  • o Provides timely operational support for Center operations to ensure quality programs and services.
  • o Pursues improvement in Center operations to fulfill program objectives.
  • o Exchanges ideas and information, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner and contributes meaningfully to group efforts by offering relevant ideas and knowledge.
