Job summary

Delaware Valley Job Corps, Callicoon, NY, seeks a Recreation Advisor to support a wide range of activities for students aged 16–24. The role involves coordinating programs, promoting wellness, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment on a full-time schedule (Wed–Sun, 3:00pm–12:00am).

You will mentor students, help develop leadership opportunities, and collaborate with CPP and Social Development teams. A High School Diploma is required and a valid NY license is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with youth, recreation, athletics, or group activities preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead activities and engage students in a positive manner.
• Valid in-state driver's license required and must meet company insurability requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 40lb.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate recreational and leadership activities.
• Promote student engagement, health, wellness, and social interaction.
• Support evening programming with CPP and Social Development teams.
• Coordinate activities with community organizations and local resources.
• Monitor recreation areas and ensure student safety.
• Track student participation and maintain accountability records.
• Maintain recreation equipment, supplies, and facilities.
• Mentor students and model Career Success Standards.
• Support student leadership opportunities and recreation aide programs.
