Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health in Springfield, MO seeks a Substance Use Disorder Technician to support clients in recovery. You will monitor daily activities, assist with health monitoring, observe behavior, and help with transport as needed within a collaborative treatment team.

Responsibilities include facilitating groups, documenting observations, and ensuring safety. The role emphasizes trauma-informed care and crisis intervention within residential and outpatient settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and two years of responsible employment.
• Experience in human services or related field preferred.
• St. Louis County programs: Bachelor’s Degree OR MAADC I/II.
• RCF: LIMA credential and Insulin Certification within 90 days.
• Must pass background checks and have valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage with clients; lead activities and recovery skills sessions.
• Monitor health and safety; obtain vital signs and escalate critical issues.
• Observe and document medication administration and OTC inventory.
• Provide personal care (grooming, bathing, dressing) as needed in residential settings.
• Facilitate urine collection and testing; document results and lab send-offs.
• Complete shift reports and EMR documentation; communicate concerns to team.
