Job summary

Area Substance Abuse Council (ASAC) is seeking a Lead Recovery Support Professional in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role focuses on supervising residential activities, coordinating staff, and maintaining safety and quality of care within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.

You will support training, oversee group programming, handle incident reporting, and assist with medication and transportation coordination to ensure a smooth, compliant operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in a human services field or residential setting is needed.
• Experience as a manager or shift lead is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise patients in all residential activities including meals, school programming, and safety.
• Assist with training Recovery Support Professionals (RSP).
• Ensure group programs are professional and supervised.
• Document incident and daily logs; manage reporting.
• Model professional interactions and lead the RSP team by example.
• Serve as back-up coverage for staff illness or time off; participate in on-call duties.
• Coordinate medication control procedures and schedule exams for patients; monitor drug screen procedures.
• Coordinate patient transportation; monitor cleanliness and safety; communicate needs with facilities leadership.
