Job summary

Hanley Foundation seeks a Peer Support Specialist to provide encouragement, guidance, and hope to individuals in recovery across behavioral health and substance use services. This role leverages personal recovery experience to build trust and support positive change, while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.

You'll collaborate with counselors, therapists, and medical staff, participate in treatment team meetings, document services accurately, and help patients develop

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent and peer support certification.
• Personal lived experience with behavioral health or substance use recovery required/appropriate.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries while supporting others.

Responsibilities

• Establish positive, recovery-oriented relationships with patients.
• Use personal recovery experiences to provide hope and practical support.
• Listen to patients without judgment and encourage recovery.
• Assist patients in developing individualized recovery plans and goals.
• Help patients identify strengths and recovery resources.
• Document peer support services and outcomes accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with counselors, therapists, and other treatment team members.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
