Job summary

SAGE Counseling's Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) uses lived recovery experience to assist clients transitioning through behavioral health and reentry services. The role provides hope, mentorship, and guidance to clients navigating the justice system and treatment.

The position handles about 50 clients, mostly referred via justice pathways, and involves in-person work with some remote opportunities and travel across SAGE clinics.

Qualifications

• Must have a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) credential via an AHCCCS-recognized credentialing agency.
• Minimum 1 year in self-managed recovery; former clients must be 6+ months post-discharge from SAGE.
• Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card or eligibility for one.
• Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized supports to criminal justice involved clients using lived experience.
• Facilitate bimonthly or monthly groups to build skills and connect to resources.
• Address social determinants of health and coordinate care including primary care and employment.
• Use coaching and mentoring to identify needs and support recovery goals.
