Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. is seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist – Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) to provide guidance and emotional support to individuals facing mental health challenges.

The role emphasizes lived experience to foster hope, resilience, and connection. You will lead peer groups, support recovery-oriented activities, and collaborate with a treatment team to develop person-centered plans.

Qualifications

• Certification: North Carolina CPSS is required.
• Lived experience in recovery from mental health or substance use disorders is required.
• Knowledge of PSR roles in Medicaid-billed settings encouraged prior to interview.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized peer support to participants.
• Lead recovery-focused peer groups and activities.
• Advocate for participants within and outside the program.
• Assist with recovery coaching and goal setting (employment, education, housing).
• Collaborate with clinicians, case managers, and staff on treatment plans.
• Maintain Medicaid-compliant documentation of services.
• Provide crisis support and connect to crisis services when needed.
• Support community integration and connections to resources.
