Job summary

Heritage Behavioral Health Center- HBHC in Decatur, IL is seeking a Recovery Support Specialist to empower individuals in recovery to set goals and engage in a supportive community. The role requires the ability to identify resources, accompany clients to appointments, and connect them with vital community services.

Applicants should be committed to trauma-informed care, work well in a team, and navigate health records and office software.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 21 years of age.
• CRSS Certification preferred.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Identify needs to promote recovery and resilience.
• Help participants take responsibility for their recovery.
• Mentor participants to utilize community resources.
• Advocate for participants navigating mental health and other systems.
• Support participants in building and maintaining community living skills.
• Assist participants in finding employment, education, volunteering and meaningful activities.
