Job summary

Trilogy Behavioral Healthcare in Chicago seeks a Recovery Support Specialist to engage clients in Drop-In Center activities, build skills in social communication, coping, and community integration, and support recovery using a trauma-informed, client-centered approach.

You will train new staff, coordinate Beacon operations with other departments, ensure safety drills, and participate in continuing education to strengthen services across locations.

Qualifications

• Must self-identify as a past or present consumer of mental health and/or substance abuse services, and willing to share recovery story.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• CRSS certification preferred or must be willing to obtain CRSS within 12 months of hire as a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide training to new employees about proper procedure in the Beacon.
• Continue education and trainings to strengthen services provided.
• Assist Team Leader with Beacon operations, i.e., inventory and management of supplies. Regularly restock office, laundry/shower area, and café. Coordinate assistance from other departments to address Beacon specific issues, i.e., Maintenance, Information Technology, etc.
• Ensure the completion of routine safety drills in accordance with organization policies, procedures, and COVID-19 guidelines.
• Coordinate with School Field Supervisors as needed for student/Intern placement.
• Facilitate milieu-based interventions intended to result in improving or maintaining the client’s ability to function in a variety of interpersonal situations.
• Consult and partner with other departments for coordination of care for clients.
• Perform other related duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Shift Requirements will vary depending on needs and hour of the Drop-In Center.
