Job summary

Heritage Behavioral Health Center in Decatur, IL is seeking a Recovery Support Specialist for the Care Transition Team. This role focuses on empowering individuals to set recovery goals and access community resources, fostering independence and resilience.

Responsibilities include connecting clients with housing, food, and healthcare services; accompanying to appointments; advocating within mental health systems; and supporting employment and education efforts.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• CRSS Certification preferred.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Identifying needs and activities that promote recovery and resilience.
• Supporting participants to make informed choices and take responsibility for their own recovery.
• Mentoring participants to help them utilize community resources.
• Advocate on behalf of participants in navigating mental health and other systems.
• Help participants build and maintain community living skills.
• Support efforts to find and retain employment, education, volunteer work, and other meaningful activities.
