Spero Health seeks a Recovery Support Specialist (Case Manager) in Owensboro, KY and Henderson, KY to join an integrated team delivering counseling, case management, and medically assisted treatment.

You will develop treatment plans, coordinate with payers, advocate for patients, and connect them with transportation and community resources to support recovery and ongoing care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Behavioral Science or Human Services.
• Minimum 1 year full-time employment or internship in a human-services setting, or a Master's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and barriers.
• Develop and implement treatment plans with patients.
• Maintain clinical documentation for prior authorizations and reviews.
• Submit and monitor prior authorization requests per payer requirements.
• Collaborate with Authorization Team, providers, and clinic leadership for payer approval.
• Ensure knowledge of payer requirements and workflows to minimize denials.
• Advocate for patients to access needed services and benefits.
• Assist patients with transportation, medical assistance, and resources.
• Provide education and support in daily living, budgeting, and medication management.
• Engage patients in recovery-oriented, patient-centered care.
• Complete required documentation timely and accurately.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and CFR 42 Part 2.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to enhance care quality.
• Engage in community outreach as applicable.

This position will support both clinic sites: Owensboro, KY (Tue/Wed/Fri) and Henderson, KY (Mon/Thurs) ***

This position is for a Recovery Support Specialist (Case Manager) who supports the mission of “Saving Lives, Instilling Hope and Restoring Relationships” in an integrated team with patients receiving counseling, case management and medically assisted treatment. Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and barriers
• Develop and implement the treatment plan in collaboration with the patient
• Maintain current assessments, treatment plans, and supporting clinical documentation required for prior authorization submissions, continued stay reviews, and reauthorizations
• Prepare, submit, and monitor prior authorization requests in accordance with payer requirements and organizational policies
• Respond promptly to requests for additional clinical information and collaborate with the Authorization Team, providers, and clinic leadership to ensure payer approval
• Maintain knowledge of payer‑specific authorization requirements, medical necessity criteria, and organizational workflows to ensure timely access to care and minimize authorization denials
• Advocate on behalf of the patient for needed services and benefits
• Connect patients with appropriate resources and assist them with obtaining their needs such as transportation, medical assistance, etc.
• Provide education, modeling, and support in the areas of daily living, budgeting, money management, and medication management
• Engage patient in recovery‑oriented, patient centered care in accordance with professional standards of practice
• Complete required Documentation in an appropriate and timely manner
• Ensuring compliance with HIPPA and CFR 42 part 2 regulations
• Collaboration with all members of the multidisciplinary team to enhance patient experience and continuity of care
• Community Outreach as applicable

Education

• Bachelor of arts or science degree in a behavioral science or a Master's Degree in Human Services

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of full‑time employment/internship working in a human‑services setting OR Master's Degree in behavioral science, as defined above.
